Sweet Dreams

I had a kind of funny dream the other night.

I dreamed that for some reason I had to start riding in a carseat. I was so upset because I was going to be embarrassed when I pulled into the work parking lot driving my car from a carseat. Also, we couldn't afford a new carseat. I had to get a used one. It was gray with a tear in the side. Dreams are so strange...

Now I take you back in time to 1997, when I was a freshman in college...

Gene and Brent always had TONS of snacks in their dorm room.
Kirstin had a microwave under her bed.
My room was always a mess (that hasn't really changed).
Stacey had her name, written in pennies, stuck on the wall over her bed.
We tried on Brittany's clothes when she wasn't in the room.
Kent spoke to me for the first time, "Hey, we have matching overalls!"
Kyle Tousineau would try to tie my shoelaces to a chair without me noticing (didn't work)
Kirstin and I would call 99.9 when they took requests at night with that guy Jason and request "Red, Red Wine"
Stacey got the first symptoms of food poisoning at a donut shop on johnston street. She ended up having to go to the emergency room.
I got swollen lips from being hit in the mouth by a raquet ball.

Next week, sophomore year in college; tales from 1998

Puppy 911 and other life changing stories

So, I took coca for her first vet visit yesterday. It was an EMERGENCY! She was pooping WAY too much. I mean 5 times in one day! Then the next morning 3 times in 3 hours! I was so worried. Good news though, she just has to get used to her food. But I was glad to go to the vet anyway. She's really nice and answered all the questions I had about Coca. I don't think she thought I was crazy. She said I could call anytime with questions. Her name was Jessica too. They also had a girl at the front desk named Jessica.

Today I've spent most of the day playing with the Coca and putting away clothes. I'm soooo bad at unpacking. When I get home from a trip my bag stays packed for a minimum of 1 week, most of the time longer. Now, we've moved into a new place, I think we moved in January 29th, we are still not even close to being unpacked. I'm just now unpacking all of my clothes. Sometimes I wish I was a celebrity and could get someone to do all the unpacking for me. Gag...I hate it.

Exciting News!! Kent's parents gave me a hanging plant for my birthday, which was in june, but it's been at their house since then, because of the move and all of that. Well, I just got it back last week and hung it in the tree right outside of our door. WELL SOMETHING GREAT HAPPENED! A bird built a nest it it! I am so excited. I see the momma bird everyday sitting on her nest. We'll get to see the little birdies when they hatch AND we'll get to see them learn how to fly! I'm just so happy everytime I walk out of the door and see her in the plant. Spring is coming soon!

I'm about to go pick up Kenter from the library and go to wal-mart and the dollar tree. I'm going to print some pics of Coca for my desk. (I'm such a goofy girl).

I've been kind of slow at posting lately because Kent and I do not have internet yet. We will have it after we see what our first electric bill is like. Oi....budgets...

It's a girl!

Here's a first look at the newest member of our family!

Coca-Cola Caperton, better known as "Coca." She's a Long-Haired Chihuahua puppy. Born on December 29, 2004, Coca weighs 1.75 lbs right now, but will grow up to be about 5 or 6 lbs.

We're very excited to finally get her!

I've been wanting a dog for a LOOOOONG time!

Cousin Pixie, a short-haired Chihuahua.

Coca and Pixie meet for the first time. Pixie showed Coca how to walk on a leash today!

Hot tub time!

I LOVE HER!

Valentine for My Car

Oh my car you've taken me so far
You're a winner, you're my star
Silver and dirty with hubcabs only on one side
You do your job, you still take me for a ride
Your visors are broken and live in the back seat
Your mats are stained from my dirty feet
Sometimes you don't start because you're not able
But all I have to do is tickle your battery cable
You drink oil like you've never had a drink before
If you burn it, don't worry, I'll just add more
Remember the beans that spilled in the back seat
Some beans still remain others we tried to eat
How about the girl that vomited on you
As I cleaned your carpets, I gagged too
I'm sorry that I let you get so dirty and black
But you never holler or give me any flack
You listen to the continuous singing it's like a concert
I'm truly sorry if you have ears and I make them hurt
Our latest adventure together was the stop sign incident
You remained calm, that's the way it should be, isn't it
You take me where I need to go everyday
A true friend, in everyway

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, CAR!

Awesome.

Kent and I are different in many, many ways. One of those ways is our tastes in music. However, once in a while we'll have one of those rare moments where our musical paths cross and we procede to belt out a song together like we're giving our farewell concert to thousands of adoring fans. The following song is one of those special ones. Picture it...Kent's driving, I'm blabbing on about whatever because I tend to blab on, radio is down low because sometimes loud music stresses me out. All of the sudden... that familiar bass line "bwa-ah bwa-ah bwa bwa bwa-ah"...One look at each other...The volume goes up...and LOOK OUT! IT'S CONCERT TIME!:

Livin' On A Prayer
J. Bon Jovi, R. Sambora, D. Child

Once upon a time
Not so long ago
Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
He's down on his luck...it's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love
She says: We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a differenceIf we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - we'll give it a shot
We're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer
Tommy got his six string in hock
Now he's holding in what he used
To make it talk - so tough, it's tough
Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers: Baby it's okay, someday
We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love - we'll give it a shot
We're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer
We've got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got
We're half way there
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Livin' on a prayer
Thank you everyone! GOODNIGHT!

Don't say it if you don't mean it you silly geese!

Friday....January 21, 2005...8:23 PM
This is an actual event at an actual Blockbuster.

Blockbuster Employee: "Is this all for you?"
Kent: "Yes."
Blockbuster Employee: "Have you heard about our no more late fees?"
Kent: "Yes, we have."
Blockbuster Employee: "Okay, that'll be $10.46. You have a late fee of $5.23. Would you like to take care of that now?"

Apparently the "No more late fees" policy starts after the Capertons walk out of the door.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a show that comes on TV called Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. On USA network they have a commercial that has the characters sitting in empty rooms, looking all serious & tough saying, "These are true stories, real stories" "Real people."

At the end of the show every time they have a statement that all stories are completely fictitious and not based on any facts.

Someone is mixed up.

We just figured out Blues Clues

Today I was dressed like the host of "Blue's Clues."
Green striped shirt, khaki pants and brown shoes.
I have to say it's rare that I like a kids show.
I didn't watch it after Steve left though.
Steve's in college, replaced by his "brother."
Some said he was dead, he was checked on by his mother.
All of that hoopla was just a rumor.
Good thing he has a sense of humor.
This is Steve and this is what he wore.
Maybe I should think about my mental health a little more.
