Coca and Pixie's Costumes

Although I wasn't with Coca to dress her up yesterday, she still got to get dressed up! Thank you, Laura. :)

Extra Time on My Hands

Now that I have some extra time, I've been able to edit some videos that have just been sitting on the tapes waiting to die. Have no fear, videos. I'm coming for you!

Anyway, here is the video of Kent assembling Julianne's crib. I think I had a cold when I made the video so try to ignore the sniffling and Darth Vader breathing. Also, I had to save it as an MPEG because it was too big for You Tube, so please excuse the video quality.

Riding the Bus / Rail

While here in Boston we've been making use of the public transportation system. We're getting quite good at it, actually. One thing that is a little stressful is getting on a bus or train that is really crowded. I have to stand up and hold on to the pole for dear life because neither the bus nor the train provides a smooth ride! Its actually pretty scary. I saw a grown man almost fall on top of his baby in a stroller on the subway!

I've had to stand and ride several times already. So far, only one person has given up their seat for the 9 month pregnant woman. The one person was an Asian lady, probably in her 50's. Other than that, no one. I did have one man hold on to the pole a little lower because he said he "didn't want to offend anyone with his armpit hair." Nice...

Coca's Awaiting Her New Family Member

These are two of my favorite pictures. They are my favorites because 1.) I have on my favorite maternity outfit, which is a super cute leopard print dress (I forgot to take a picture in it before I left). and 2.) Coca looks like she really knows someone is in there and she's waiting for them. :)

I Really Miss Coca :(

Of course I miss Kent TONS, but I know he will be here in about a week and a half. That gives me something to look forward to and it helps me get my sadness under control.

Coca, on the other hand, I will not see until sometime in October, possibly later. I cried as I watched her tilt her little head from side to side as she heard my voice through the computer speakers last night. I got choked up as I looked at her picture today. I cried as I saw her on the web cam tonight. I got teary eyed just now when I told Kent I was posting about missing Coca. Some of you may think that sounds silly but I really love my little Poochie. I know I'll be busy when we get home, but I won't love Coca any less than I do now. I tried to explain that to her and prepare her before I left. I hope she knows that I didn't abandon her and I'll be back for her soon. :)

Still getting bigger...

Tomorrow marks 36 weeks for Julianne! I'm going to try to remember to take another picture for my "belly progress" chart tomorrow. Here is my most recent picture though. I think we took this one this past Saturday.

Great Deals!

My mom and I stopped by a few garage sales this weekend. We really didn't find anything so we went home. Then about 30 minutes later we went back out to get some dog food and passed a garage sale that looked like it had baby stuff. WE GOT 2 AWESOME DEALS! We found a jogging stroller, in great condition for only $3. It just needed to be cleaned and have the tires aired up. We also found a baby sling for $3, so I was pretty excited about that too. I already tried out the sling with my dog in it (don't worry it hasn't been washed yet :). She seemed to like it. :) It entertained me anyway. She looked pretty funny in it.

Anyway, gotta run...its my last Monday of work! YAY!!

Weird Dreams

Lately I've been having the recurring dream that we have the baby and are doing various things...sometimes we're with her in the hospital, sometimes we're at home, sometimes we're giving her a bottle...Whatever we're doing she always looks the same. Exactly like Coca, our dog! Actually, in the dream the baby is Coca. Weird....

Vacation Pictures

Only 2 months late!! We had a wonderful vacation to Disney World and Universal Studios in May. We went with my family and had a FABULOUS time! Here are some of my favorite pictures (by the way, it's not that I only like pictures of Kent and myself, I'm just not sure my family is okay with me putting pictures of them on my blog :)

Three Weeks!

I can't believe that we leave for Boston in 3 weeks and 5 days! There's still so much to do! Its all happening too fast.

I've been keeping up with another couple who's baby was diagnosed with HLHS at 20 weeks as well. He was born 2 days ago in Philidelphia and is scheduled to have his first surgery tomorrow. Its been...I don't really know what word to put here...encouraging? scary? overwhelming? informational?...to follow their story knowing that will be us in about 6 weeks.

Also, I only have 2 weeks and 1 day of work left! So that is REALLY AWESOME!

So I'm a Week Late With This Picture

I'm actually 31 weeks pregnant now, but here's my most recent picture.

I cannot believe its going by this fast. We should be meeting Julianne in about 7 weeks! I'm not ready yet. Maybe she can just live inside me. I think that may get uncomfortable though...

Updated Information

I know I haven't posted much on this blog about my pregnancy or the diagnosis of our baby's heart defect. We've made a new blog so that everyone can keep up with what's going on with our baby, Julianne. Please visit Julianne's Journey if you'd like and get all the latest information.

Thank you for all of your prayers over the last couple of months and over the last week as we made our way to Boston. It looks like that's where we'll be headed for her birth and surgery. Please visit the new blog for more info. We continue to ask for your prayers and continue to be thankful for each and every one of them.

Some new pictures

Here are some recent pictures. Although, I don't know why I'm so hunched over in the 23 weeks pics. I'll have to work on that. Hopefully, I'll be posting some vacation pictures soon. :)

Graduation Looming

Its hard to believe that almost 3 years ago Kent and I moved to New Orleans for him to go to school. I started this blog about a month and half after we moved here. So, I guess its sort of chronicled our time in the big N.O. I will keep the blog though, even if we move. Where would we move? That remains a mystery. Where will our baby be born? That remains a mystery as well, but I hope its clean. Where will Coca terrorize mosquito hawks, June bugs and neighbors who don't like barking? That too is a mystery...basically its all a mystery so I'll just stop with that one. Anyway, wherever we go I hope it has a garden tub because our bathroom now has one and I am now SPOILED! I don't know if I could go back to regular bathing. I'd feel like a beta fish in one of those little cups at Wal-Mart. Then, my scales would probably start flaking off and I'd become discolored. I've gotta keep my scales!!! YIKES!

In Cages with Dogs

I have, on occasion, gotten into a dog house or kennel/cage and was usually followed by the dog who lived in the cage. I was surprised to find how many other people took pictures of themselves doing this. Between flickr and google I found 5!! Maybe I should try to meet these people...

Why is that show ALWAYS on??!!!

Have you ever seen the show I Love New York on VH1? If you haven't, I do not recommend it. Its a reality show about an extremely disgusting "lady" named "New York" finding a man. She is trashy with a capital ASHY! She's nasty. The most recent episode synopsis says they go to Playa Car, Mexico and the guys threaten to kill each other, but New York doesn't let a little violence ruin her fun.

Anyway, that show is ALWAYS on! I just looked at the TV listings and today it came on at 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00, 8:00 PM and just in case that's not enough, it will come on again at 11:00 PM! Who is watching this show? AND what is wrong with you? I watch some pretty lame stuff, but I'd rather be poked in the eye than watch this show.

Un-fit Mother?

I wonder if at my appointments my doctor evaluates my mental ability to raise a child. If she does, the following conversation probably cost me a few points:

March 7, 2006

Doctor: Does your family have any history of birth defects?
Jessica: No.
Doctor: Any history of genetic disorders?
Jessica: No.
Doctor: Have you ever had Herpes?
Jessica: No.
Doctor: Have you ever had Chicken Pox?
Jessica: Yes.
Doctor: Do you have "Katz"?
Jessica: Do I have what?
Doctor: "Katz".
Jessica: Well, I don't think so. I really don't know what the symptoms are though.
Doctor: A house cat?
Jessica: OH! I thought "Katz" was a disease...I just thought...I...uh...Okay, so, No, I don't have a cat.

I thought maybe "Katz" was some type of Jewish disease I'd never heard of. I don't know what is with my brain sometimes. My doctor didn't laugh. I think she just thought I was crazy.

Ding Dong! Baby Calling!

If you haven't already heard the news, here's a hint...
That's right! Kent and I are expecting our first child in September! YAY! Coca is very excited to be a big sister :)

I had an ultrasound yesterday and they did one of those 4D ultrasounds just as an "experiment" to see what it would look like this early. The 4D image is the one on the right. The baby sort of looks a little alienish, lol!
These are just the rest of yesterday's pics:

Gillette Fusion Phantom....what???

I cannot believe its been this long since I've posted. Whoa.

Anyway...

Have you seen the new commercial for the Gillette Fusion Phantom razor? Sure it may get you a close shave, but do you really want a phantom as a razor?

You get ready to shave and go to get your razor, but Oh no! You can't find it, because it's a phantom razor and has disappeared.

Not to mention, having a phantom razor around your house could be a little scary. I think something a little less harmful would be appropriate as a phantom but not a razor. Lets say you have the new "Hanes Phantom Socks." When they haunt you what will they do? Make you smell them? But if your razor is a phantom and decides to haunt you...WATCH OUT! It could do some serious damage...from a bald head to a bloody, bloody wound to death.

If you are considering the new phantom razor consider yourself warned. Phantoms are undpredictable.
